Various programs to improve family home lives.
The following programs are offered:
Family Support: Helps parents in their role as caregivers. The goal is to promote and strengthen family life and to enhance child and family development. They work with parents to come up with a plan that fits their requirements and goals; it may include counselling, budgeting and household management help, training, referrals, parent-teen mediation and supervised access visits. Strengthening Families: Weekly workshops for parents and their children. They offer workshops for children 6-11 years of age and children 10 – 14 years of age. Through videos, role-playing, discussions, learning games and family projects, this program improves family communications and increases positive parenting practices, school performance and parent-child attachment. Each session includes a complimentary meal, childminding for younger siblings and a gift to take home. To register or for more information, call 604-815-2177 or email marieke.kerr@sscs.ca.
