Adult Developmental Disability Programs - Sea to Sky
Disability Services, Education, Employment, and Housing / Shelter
Provided by Sea to Sky Community Services
- Life Skills and Community Access: Helps people with developmental disabilities to become more independent through one-on-one support and group activities that help people strengthen daily living skills (taking the bus, cooking, doing laundry and staying safe, for example), access community resources like banks and shops, make friends and practice communication and social skills.
- Newport House: Provides a stable home life with necessary supports for four adults with developmental disabilities who require full-time care. The goal of the home is to provide the residents with as much independence as possible through work, social opportunities and inclusion in their community.
- Homeshare: Through Homeshare, adults with a developmental disability share a home with someone who provides ongoing support. Residential arrangements vary. An adult could have a furnished room and bathroom in a house owned by the Homeshare provider, for example, or may provide a room in their own home to a Homeshare provider.
- Community Employment and Services: Helps adults with developmental disabilities to prepare for, find and maintain employment.
