Provided by PearlSpace (formerly Howe Sound Women's Centre Society)

Offers various housing solutions to women in need in the areas of Squamish, Whistler and Pemberton.
The following programs and services are offered:
  • Pearl’s Place Transition House: A safe transition home located in Squamish for women, children and pets to leave abusive relationships or at risk of experiencing violence and otherwise unsafe living conditions.
  • Emergency Safe Housing (Whistler & Pemberton): The emergency safe housing offers temporary emergency shelter (typically 10 days) in a safe and secure environment for women and their children who are feeling unsafe or suffering abuse in their relationships. This includes those who are at risk of experiencing violence and otherwise unsafe living conditions. To access, call the crisis line at 1-877-890-5711.
  • Traverse Project: a 24/7 mobile service offering caring, confidential support and informed choice for sexual assault survivors. Our specialized resource workers are available to help survivors with what to expect in regards to medical care and forensic medical examinations in their community, as well as access to Third Party Reporting options where they can remain anonymous in their decision to report the assault to the police. This is a gender-inclusive project and will be available to support ages 14 and up, biding by our mature minor policy used on a case-by-case basis. Call or text 24/7: 604-389-9168.
  • PEACE counselling: supports children, youth and families who have experienced violence, abuse or conflict through separation and divorce. This service is free and confidential and is offered throughout the sea-to-sky corridor.
  • Homeless Prevention Program: The Homeless Prevention Program (HPP) provides rent supplements and support services to women who are fleeing violence, homeless, and at risk of homelessness. This subsidy is intended to be temporary and used for individuals in market housing where they are not able to pay their rent in full through income alone. The HPP subsidy can also aid women with a one-time situational subsidy.
  • Affordable Housing: 1 and 2-bedroom affordable housing units for rent in Squamish and Pemberton. Tenancy is by application as units become available.
