Third Party Reporting Option - survivors of sexual assault
Abuse / Neglect, Legal, and Victim Services
Provided by PearlSpace (formerly Howe Sound Women's Centre Society)
This option is for individuals who wish to report the assault directly to the police but do not want to go to the police directly. In this case, individuals can choose to make a third party report which allows them to provide details about the assault to the police anonymously through a third party agency.
How does it work? A trained Third Party Reporting Worker who specializes in emotional, practical, and other supports for survivors of sexual assault will give the individual the TPR Questionnaire to fill out. The completed TPR form is forwarded to the police agency in the jurisdiction where the report was completed without including any information that would identify the individual.
