Offers discounted bus passes to low-income seniors and other eligible residents based on age and personal circumstances.
Low-income seniors and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) have access to the BC Bus Pass Program. This pass can be used in communities across the province served by BC Transit or TransLink. Eligibility requires residency in one of these service areas.
Applicants must also meet one of following criteria:
- 60 years or older and:
- The spouse of a person on disability assistance
- Receiving income assistance
- Living on a First Nations reserve and getting assistance from the band office
- Receiving Old Age Security (OAS) and the Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS)
- 65 years or older and would qualify for GIS but does not meet the Canadian 10-year residency rule
- Receiving the federal spousal Allowance
- Receiving the federal Allowance for the Survivor
Individuals may apply by calling or online by
clicking here. After application and eligibility approval, the pass costs $45 per year. This fee is non-refundable. The pass is valid from January 1 to December 31 of the calendar year.
