Online Support Programs for Patients with Terminal Illness and Their Caregivers

Provides compassionate support for patients and loved ones through MSP-covered courses.
Programs are designed for individuals diagnosed with a terminal or life-limiting illness, as well as their caregivers. Through education, guided support, and mindfulness-based practices, we help patients navigate their journey with dignity and resilience.

These courses are intended for anyone who has been diagnosed with a terminal or life-limiting illness:
  • Metastatic cancer (on or off chemotherapy)
  • End-stage kidney failure (on or off dialysis)
  • End-stage heart disease
  • End-stage lung disease
  • Neurological diseases such as ALS

This free 8 week online course is for anyone and/or their caregivers who has received a life-limiting diagnosis, whether or not they are receiving life prolonging treatments. ​These one-hour on line group medical visits are designed for patients and caregivers. Each session is led by a physician, with occasional guest experts. These classes are ongoing, and individuals can pick which ones they would like to attend. Programs Options:
  • A New Beginning: 4–8-week supportive therapy groups (weekly Zoom) exploring life’s meaning, meditation, and self-regulation in a safe community of practice.
  • Navigating the Journey: Weekly Zoom sessions led by a palliative care physician and guests covering advance care planning, symptom management, community resources, and more, with Q&A.

Eligibility:
  • Adults (18–85) with a terminal or life-limiting diagnosis
  • Able to consent and attend all sessions
  • Comfortable with group sessions in English
  • Access to device, internet, and email
