Offers a range of programs and services supporting children, youth, and families in the Tri-Cities area.
Programs include:
Children 0-6 years:
  • Support For Children With Delayed Development: Early intervention therapy services include occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech-language therapy. EI Therapists provide services to support your goals for your child and family, and help children to participate in everyday activities. Online referrals can be made at the Kinsight Website.
  • Child and Family Services: Provides prevention and risk-reducing community-based support to families in the Tri-Cities, Anmore and Belcarra areas with children aged birth to 12 years old. This program is funded by the Ministry of Children & Family Development (MCFD). Referrals must come from a MCFD Social Worker or Child & Youth Mental Health (CYMH) Clinician. Family Support Workers (FSW’s) offer outreach support to parents/caregivers in their home or community. FSW services are available in English, Farsi and Mandarin.   • Early Years Community & Parenting Programs: Offers a variety of free programs to enhance and support the healthy development of families with children 0-6 years old. in Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam, Port Moody, Anmore and Belcarra. Services are offered in the following areas: early literacy and play-based learning, connection with other families, family support, and parent education and information.   • SEEDS - Social Emotional Early Development Services: Counselling services for families in the Tri-Cites, Anmore and Belcarra with children aged birth to 6 years old. This program is funded by Child and Youth Mental Health (CYMH), and referrals must come from CYMH.
Children & Youth 6-19 years:
  • SHARE Community Living Program Provides learning opportunities, develops motor and life skills, and also enables each child to experience interaction and a connection with their peers in a safe environment that teaches appropriate social practice. The program offers a variety of weekly groups for ages 5 – 18 years, as well as Individual Support services.
  • Saturday Activity Club: Provides a social group for children aged 5–8 with a diagnosed developmental disability. Youth Workers facilitate activity-based learning opportunities designed to support the development of age-appropriate social, motor, and life skills. Sessions are held every Saturday for two hours: Morning group: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM and Afternoon group: 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM.   • Social Club / Social T: Provides social groups for youth with a diagnosed developmental disability. Programs include Social Club for youth aged 8–12 and Social T for youth aged 13–18. Youth Workers facilitate activity-based learning opportunities that support the development of age-appropriate social, motor, and life skills. Youth also participate in planning special themed events, which occur at least once per month. Program schedules: Social Club: Fridays, 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM, Social T: Fridays, 5:30 PM – 8:00 PM.   • Super Youth Skills and Job Training Group for Teens: This is a social/ skills group for youth aged 15-18 years old with a diagnosed developmental disability. The focus is on learning about skills, building resources and volunteer training in the surrounding community. The group makes appearances at various community events to take on supervised leadership and peer modelling roles. Sessions are held every Monday afternoon (4:00 PM - 6:00 PM), 2 hours per session. To be added to the Priority for Services List for individual and group services, families should contact their CYSN Social Worker (See contact below).
  • League of Extraordinary Youth (for Youth who are non-binary or who identify as Boys): A social group for youth who are non-binary or who identify as boys aged 13-18 with a diagnosed developmental disability. The focus is on preparing for adulthood, increasing independence and social skills between peers and in the community. There may be opportunities for the group to discuss gender specific issues. Sessions are held every Tuesday evening, 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM, 2 hours per session. Some special activities occasionally occur on other days. To be added to the Priority for Services List for individual and group services, families should contact their CYSN Social Worker (See contact below).
  • Friendship Circle (for Youth who are non-binary or who identify as Girls): A social group for youth ages 10-18 years old with a diagnosed developmental disability. The focus is on preparing for adulthood, increasing independence and social skills between peers and in the community. Older youth in the group explore mentorship and leadership skills with the younger participants. There may be opportunities for the group to discuss gender specific issues. Sessions are held every Wednesday evenings 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM, 2 hours per session. SHARE Family Counselling: SHARE Family Counselling is a short-term counselling service available to residents of the Tri-Cities, including Anmore and Belcarra, with a child or youth aged 0-18 in the home. The focus of this service is on Child, Youth, Family and Caregiver Counselling support, including family conflict; impacts of divorce/separation; child/youth mental health concerns; and parenting skills and support. Please note that for minors, parental consent is required, and in cases of shared decision-making, both parents will need to consent to counselling for children under the age of 12. Interpretation services are also available. To arrange for services please call the Intake Team (See info below).
