Palliative & Bereavement Support - Squamish

Provided by Sea to Sky Hospice Society

Offers a range of free programs and services to help community members in the Sea to Sky live well at home, hospital, in long term care or in the Whistler Blackcomb Foundation Sea to Sky Community Hospice unit. Trained volunteers offer practical and emotional support to both clients and families.
  • One-on-One Visiting: Provides emotional support and companionship for patients and caregivers.
  • Bedside Vigil: Provides support in the final 48 hours of life.
  • Bereavement Support: Provides groups, walks, and limited counselling for grieving adults and resources for young grievers.
  • Alternative Therapies: Provides reiki and therapeutic touch.
  • Oncology Tea Service: Provides tea and support for hospital oncology patients.
  • Infant Loss Kits: Provides support for families grieving infant loss.
  • Advanced Care Planning: Provides end-of-life care planning assistance.
  • Community Outreach & Education: Provides education on grief and care planning.
  • Jamie-Lyn Marchant Library: Provides resources on end-of-life care.
  • Volunteer Driver Cancer Program: Program offers round-trip transportation to treatment appointments such as chemotherapy and radiation. Only from Squamish to Vancouver and back. Not for follow-up appointments. 48 hours notice required.
