Food Bank and Holiday Helper Program - Food Security
Financial and Food
Provided by Whistler Community Services Society
The Food Bank operates using a shopping model and is stocked with both purchased food and food recovered from local restaurants, grocers, and businesses. Individuals are encouraged to visit once every one to two weeks to supplement other food resources.
The School Food Program supports food security and nutrition for students by providing snacks and lunch items through self-serve fridges at all five Whistler schools.
In addition to food access, the program may offer food skills training and support with long-term planning toward self-sufficiency through WCSS Outreach Services. The Food Bank is open for drop-in on Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays 1:30 PM – 5:30 PM. For more information, please email: foodbank@mywcss.org
The Holiday Helper program is designed to help financially restricted Whistler families with a portion of their holiday-related expenses. Families will receive a $100 gift card of their choice towards a gift purchase for each child 18 years old and under, and a $50 Gift Card to a grocery store of their choice for each member of your family. Children must be 18 or under as of 25th December to be eligible for the program.
